Goshen Theater Program Director

Description:
The Program Director is responsible for all programs, events, and rentals that take place in the Goshen Theater. The PD works with GT staff colleagues and the community to create events that will both enliven and enrich the Goshen Community and residents of Elkhart County. They work closely with the FOH Manager and TD on event prep and set up. They assist the Executive Director, as needed, but particularly with the artistic collaborations and community events. They are responsible for maintaining all media from and for events at the theater. They attend all the events at the theater and assist as needed in various capacities.

The Program Director must be a community minded individual who is willing to build and maintain relationships in the region.

Duties:

  1. Reports to Executive Director
  2. Oversees all aspects of marketing at the theater.
    1. Maintains Social Media (Facebook, Instagram); Ad buys
    2. Coordinates press releases with FOH Manager.
    3. Creates and builds all printed marketing materials
      1. Works with FOH on building bi-monthly newsletter (Digital & Print). Mailchimp/Canva
      2. Bi-Monthly Meetings with the Goshen News
      3. Coordinates ads in print
    4. Programming: Program Director oversees all aspects of programming. Coordinating scheduling, budgets, and staffing for events.
      1. Presents monthly to the SPPC (Strategic Planning and Programming) Committee
      2. Works with GT Staff to curate productions/events for:
        1. Free Movies
        2. Community Partnerships
        3. Productions
          1. Full Productions
            1. Musicals
            2. Plays
          2. Concerts
          3. Community Events
    5. Events / Rentals
      1. Main POC for all events and rentals at Goshen Theater. Attends all events and rentals
      2. Coordinates contracts and price negotiations for rentals / events.
      3. Hires additional staff as needed for events and works with FOH Manager to facilitate events.
      4. Works with staff to hire production team for events
    6. Maintains presence at community events; represents theater.
    7. Creates and maintains budgets for all productions and events hosted by or with the theater.
    8. Works with ED on proposals and grants for events.
    9. Creates Monthly Board Reports for ED on all aspects of Events/Programs/ Rentals.
    10. Assists TD in tech and set-up tasks
    11. Designs graphics for events with FOH and assists FOH in tasks as needed
      1. Box Office
        1. Maintain the Event/Program ticket sites.
        2. Maintain the On The Stage website
        3. Concessions & Bar

Required Qualifications:

  1. Reliable Transportation
  2. Non Profit Experience
  3. Management Experience
  4. Knowledge and training in all aspects of production
  5. Marketing
    1. Graphic Design work
      1. Canva
      2. Adobe Suite (Optional)
    2. Marketing Strategy
    3. Undergraduate Degree in Arts, Nonprofit management, or related field.
    4. Event planning & contracting experience
    5. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
      1. May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    6. Ability to move/reside in Michiana Region

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Masters Degree in Arts, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
  2. Social Media
  3. Eventual residence in Elkhart County

Compensation:
